Companies Act 2014

Welcome to The new Companies Act 2014

The Companies Act 2014 commenced on 1st June 2015.

This legislation is a challenge for company Directors, but also an opportunity. Cahir and Company have the professional knowledge of company law and the new Companies Act to best advise businesses and business people.

The Act introduces two types of private company limited by shares, the new model private company limited by shares LTD and the designated activity company DAC. The constitutional documents of companies will be different to those that we are currently using (in the case of an LTD they are substantially different). During the transition period of 18 months after commencement, existing private companies will have to consider which of the new types of corporate structure they will adopt.

We will be covering the many changes over the coming months and updating you in due course.
